The hardware product ranges from Roto Window and Door Technology are trusted by manufacturers of PVC, timber and aluminium windows all over the world.

CEO  Marcus Sander describes what the company offers: Our window hardware creates incredible added value, in terms of both function and appearance, and is suitable for all window opening types that are prevalent across the globe.

One example of this is the Outward Opening and Casement&Awning hardware, which is common in Asia and America in particular. At Fensterbau Frontale 2026, the architectural hardware expert showcased a Casement&Awning window with the X-Drive Operator for the first time, alongside a number of Tilt&Turn solutions with “Roto NX” and “Roto AL”.

The sash in the Casement&Awning window is pulled firmly against the frame and locked using two operating elements. These two elements
are the Roto X-Drive Operator (crank handle), which is attached flush at the bottom of the sash profile, and the Locking Handle at the side.

This is the standard window type in North America and the Operator was produced by Roto in America. This window, like all of the other solutions presented at the trade show, is now also available to view in the virtual “Roto City”. This is where a member of the Roto Sales team takes visitors on a virtual tour through buildings and rooms, providing expert advice on each individual application.

Comfort with a concealed hinge side

The Roto comfort window is already established on the market. Its extended, ergonomic window handleis fitted to the bottom horizontal profile of the sash and opens the Tilt&Turn sash either to the tilt or turn position. Operation is effortless thanks to special components like the comfort sash stay and a compatible comfort espagnolette.

Roto now offers two comfort ventilation versions for timber profile systems for the “Roto NX | C” concealed hinge side and a 13 mm hardware axis. The standout feature of both models is the forcibly controlled opening of the window sash up to a defined opening width, initiated by the comfort handle being moved.

The special hardware technology incorporated into both designs makes it possible to ventilate rooms but prevents the window inadvertently being opened fully. The system is available as a Tilt-Only comfort ventilation window up to a sash weight of 80 kg and a Turn-Only comfort ventilation window up to a sash weight of 100 kg.

If the comfort handle in the Tilt-Only version of the comfort ventilation window is turned 180°, the sash is forcibly controlled without manual effort so that it is automatically tilted open up to the predefined opening width of 80 mm. What’s more, the sash can also be turned open by up to 90° – for example for cleaning purposes – by manually releasing the anti-unlocking mechanism in the “comfort arrestable ventilation stay”.

The sash in the Turn-Only version of the comfort ventilation window is also forcibly controlled to open it up to an opening width of 80 mm when the comfort handle is turned 180°. What’s more, this window sash can be turned open up to 90° by releasing the anti-unlocking mechanism.

“Roto E-Tec Drive” concealed tilt drive

The “Roto E-Tec Drive” – a quiet, electric tilt drive – offers greater convenience and reliability. It is automatically activated when needed using a radio-controlled button, remote control or smart home system, and tilts windows or fanlights. The tilt depth can be set to any value depending on requirements. The “E-Tec Drive” is available for windows made from any frame material with a sash weight of up to 100 kg and can also be combined with the “Roto NX | C” concealed hinge side.

The Turn-Only version of this comfort ventilation window features the “Roto NX | C” concealed hinge side. Moving the comfort handle forcibly controls the window without manual effort so that it is turned open up to 80 mm for ventilation purposes. If the anti-unlocking mechanism in the arrestable ventilation stay is manually released, the sash can also be turned open as far as 90°. In this timber-aluminium window, the gap between the aluminium shell and pane of glass is reliably sealed by the “DS 7354c” coextruded glazing seal from Deventer. Image: ROTO

Concealed hinge side and lever-operated espagnolette

The “Roto NX | C” concealed hinge side and the “lever-operated espagnolette Plus” can be used to produce triple-sashed window solutions with a premium design. Concealed hardware components create a flush appearance when the sashes are closed. If two reverse-action sashes are turned open, this produces a generous opening without a visible fixed mullion. The lever in the “lever-operated espagnolette Plus”, which is almost flush, simplifies operation and reduces the risk of injury.

Fully turned open, even in flush profile systems

The “Roto AL Designo | STS 180°” concealed Tilt&Turn hardware helps to produce inward opening aluminium windows with traditional or flush profile systems. The opening width of 180° makes it possible to retract the sash parallel to the wall when it is fully turned open. This reduces the risk of colliding with a window sash that is turned only halfway open and protrudes into the room. In Asia, for instance, this window version with sashes which can be retracted parallel to the wall has been a popular choice for many years, while demand for it is now growing around the world.

Dry glazing made simple

It’s not just the quality of the hardware that matters – the quality of the seals has a direct impact on the service life of windows and doors. Deventer, a subsidiary of Roto Window and Door Technology, offers a wide range of TPE and silicone profiles for ultimate sealing throughout the entire system. The “DS 7354c” coextruded glazing seal for timber-aluminium elements and facades provides long-lasting and flexible sealing for the joint between the aluminium shell and pane of glass with a stop distance of up to 6.5 mm. The seal head made from particularly flexible silicone foam keeps the compression consistent as the pressure increases. The “DS 7354c” is suitable for dry glazing, so it can also be used to seal windows and facades on construction sites.

Optimal coordination of hardware and seal

Window manufacturers around the world are not only able to purchase hardware technology from Roto, but sealing profiles, thresholds, handles, electronic components and glazing blocks too. The manufacturer speaks of a perfect match for tight sealing and long-lasting operating convenience, security and durability. On request, the sealing profiles are coordinated with the kinematics of a window sash and the hardware configuration, and tailored to meet customers’ individual requirements. Specialist advisers and test laboratories from Roto and Deventer provide support to window manufacturers, even as early as during the product development process. Roto guarantees ultimate delivery reliability for all hardware components and sealing profiles.
