As part of Fensterbau Frontale 2026, profine GmbH has presented the international “Kömmerling Tomorrow Award” for the first time. The award recognises window manufacturers worldwide who make a measurable contribution to greater sustainability through innovative solutions and strong commitment.

In the Products & Processes category, H.O. Schlüter GmbH (Lübz, Germany) was awarded first place. The company has been operating carbon-neutral production since 2023 and consistently relies on an electric vehicle fleet. Second place went to Reform Fenster (Austria) for its complete conversion to window profiles made from bio-attributed PVC. APS Windows (Australia) achieved third place with a comprehensive recycling programme and numerous energy-efficiency measures within its operations.

In the Social Commitment category, Reform Fenster (Austria) was recognised for a broad-based sustainability programme featuring a wide range of initiatives and partnerships, including collaboration with the association FairMotion. Second place was awarded to Fensterbau Hartmann (Schaafheim, Germany) for its involvement in the construction of a school sports hall in Kenya. Espaco Smart (Brazil) received third place for building an innovative company canteen using recycled materials, also contributing to improved working conditions for its employees.

The prize money is earmarked for specific purposes: the two first-place winners each received EUR 10,000, which will be donated in the name of the respective companies to selected initiatives – to the German Red Cross district association Parchim and to the FairMotion association in Austria. The four additional awards are each endowed with EUR 1,000.

Sustainability is a key factor for the future of our company and the entire industry. The awarded projects clearly demonstrate how responsible action can be implemented in practice – and they motivate us to consistently continue the path we have taken with the Kömmerling Tomorrow Award 2026, explains Dr. Peter Mrosik, owner and CEO of profine Group.
