ift Rosenheim presents 15 sustainable and climate-resilient building products and services with 23 co-exhibitors.

The unchanged high CO₂ emissions continue to "heat up" the climate and cause weather extremes with high risks to life and property. Therefore, manufacturers of building products should no longer wait for policy or standards, but actively develop suitable products to meet the growing demand for climate-resilient and sustainable building materials and components.

After all, the building products that are installed in buildings today save costs and reduce risks over a service life of 30 years or more. From 13 - 17 January 2025, ift Rosenheim will therefore be presenting 15 exhibits and evaluation criteria at the world's leading trade fair BAU in Munich together with Messe München and 23 co-exhibitors in Hall B3 (501/502) on 300 m² as part of the special show "climate.proof.build". Further information can be found at ift-rosenheim.de/bau-2025.

Climate change is progressing almost unchecked and is leading to extreme weather events from which we need to protect ourselves better by making our buildings "climate-proof". However, political decisions, the behaviour of many consumers and the successful PR campaigns of the "fossil fuel economy" are delaying the necessary changes. Companies and the public sector should therefore set an example. Companies can develop "climate-safe" building products that are then publicly subsidised and used in an exemplary manner.

This is also dictated by the economic dimension of sustainability. Today's investments in buildings save costs and reduce risks over a utilisation period of 30 years or more. Anyone who plans and builds according to current standards will end up with an outdated building that does not provide sufficient protection against flooding and overheating.

"Climate-proof" building products must therefore be resource-saving, CO2 -neutral, recyclable, free of pollutants and climate-resilient throughout their entire life cycle. The ift Rosenheim has therefore developed the "climate.proof.build" assessment system in order to assess the diverse product requirements such as climate protection, climate adaptation and sustainability in a neutral, well-founded and clear manner. This provides builders, investors and planners with reliable information and decision-making criteria for searching for and purchasing suitable building products without "greenwashing".

The special show presents the key themes of BAU 2025 in a practical way: transformations, resource efficiency, resilient + climate-friendly construction as well as modular, serial and economical construction methods. Using the example of 15 fully functional exhibits, the materials, constructions and technologies used to make buildings more sustainable and provide better protection against climate extremes will be demonstrated.

The "climate.proof.build" assessment system will be demonstrated using the exhibits on show and the necessary test procedures (hurricane test, test procedure for flood resistance, etc.). The exhibits will be supplemented by PC terminals on which information and calculation/simulation tools as well as digital services can be presented and tested (automatic EPD creation, CO2 calculator, eco-building data, control systems, digital services of co-exhibitors). The following exhibits will be on display at the ift special show:

» Flood-resistant front door (Moralt) and basement window at insulation level with light well incl. backwater seal (Aco)

» Barrier-free exterior door in Corteen steel incl. professional drainage (Aco/Athmer/Otto-Stumm, Otto-Stumm and VetroTech)

» "Low-tech" climate box-type windows with integrated solar shading, natural ventilation and high sound insulation (Eilenburger Fensterbau)
