VELUX Group welcomes Barnabas Szabo as new Executive Vice President for Operations & Supply on September 1, 2024. He will take on the overall responsibility of developing and leading the operations and supply teams to ensure the company remains competitive, delivers value to partners and customers, continuously grows in relevancy and fulfils VELUX sustainability targets.
Barnabas Szabo comes from a position as Executive Vice President and Head of Global Operations – Lighting Business Group at international automotive supplier HELLA GmbH (part of Forvia since 2022). In this position, Barnabas Szabo has been responsible for a worldwide network of 15 plants in three regions with a total turnover of 3.5 billion euros. In addition, Barnabas Szabo has held the responsibility for HELLA North America in an interim period, covering commercial and operational activities. Barnabas Szabo first joined HELLA Electronics Business Group in Shanghai China in 2015.

In his new role, Barnabas Szabo will be responsible for an organization of approximately 6000 employees and his task will be to strengthen competitiveness, relevancy and value to customers.

Barnabas Szabo is a mechanical engineer who has built extensive experience covering the full value chain of operations. Prior to HELLA, he worked for automotive seating provider C.Rob Hammerstein and LEONI, a wiring harness and cable manufacturer for 15 years. He lived in China for 13 years and now lives near Budapest, Hungary, with his wife and their two children.
