Schüco FireStop is an aluminium fire and smoke protection platform with 30 to 90 minutes of fire resistance. The platform combines design and efficiency and the profiles set new standards in installation and flexibility thanks to their open rebate profile geometry.
This is because changes in use or additional adjustments can be implemented without great effort. The fire protection units can also be fabricated quickly and efficiently thanks to the simplified system structure. The platform is continuously being developed and impresses with many new features, such as burglar resistance up to Resistance Class 2 (RC2) with the 30-minute design.
The Schüco FireStop platform comprises the Schüco FireStop ADS 90 FR 30 (Fire Resistance 30 minutes) and Schüco FireStop ADS 90 FR 90 (Fire Resistance 90 minutes) fire protection systems with a basic depth of 90 mm and 30 to 90 minutes of fire resistance. The two thermally insulated aluminium designs are complemented by the non-insulated smoke protection system Schüco FireStop ADS 76.NI SP (Non Insulation, Smoke Protection) with a basic depth of 76 mm. The centrepiece of the Schüco FireStop platform is the open rebate profile geometry. This enables adjustments such as electrification of the door or switching from single to multi-point locking to be implemented quickly and flexibly while the building is still in use and without invalidating the approval in order to adapt to changing requirements. The open rebate profile geometry also enables efficient fabrication and installation of concealed fittings, which ensure a uniform appearance throughout the whole building.
The fittings can be installed virtually tool free without any additional machining. The profiles, accessories and fittings of the 30-minute and 90-minute fire protection systems are largely identical. The installation of accessories such as fire boards and glazing clips allows the highest fire resistance class of 90 minutes to be achieved. Identical work and fabrication steps within the platform and extensive use of the same components enable different construction methods for maximum flexibility. The fact that glazing clips and rebate holders are not used in the fire protection door with 30 minutes of fire resistance also reduces the fabrication time and complexity in the planning stage.
Continuous development
The tried-and-tested Schüco FireStop platform is being continuously developed. The Schüco FireStop ADS 90 FR 30 now also offers burglar resistance up to RC2. This burglar resistance can be implemented for fire-resistant doors with and without apanic function and for outward-opening single and double-leaf doors including side section and toplight. At the same time, the improved platform has F30 fire-resistant fixed glazing and also provides anti-fall protection for internal applications. The new fire-resistant glazing consisting of fire-resistant double glazing enables additional sound reduction and improved thermal insulation properties. An automatic threshold gasket with time delay is another enhancement of the Schüco FireStop ADS 90 FR 30 fire-resistant door.
