J.E. Berkowitz has produced a new video that highlights the advantages of the JEB 3Seal® HM+ structural warm-edge spacer for IGUs.

The video, which debuted at the 2018 Glass Association of North America’s Building Envelope Conference, explores how the JEB 3Seal HM+ spacer was designed to meet the toughest commercial glazing demands.

Unlike traditional metal spacers that are manually installed, the JEB 3Seal HM+ spacer’s application is 100 percent automated, ensuring accurate sightline alignment, minimizing human error, and ultimately producing a superior-quality IGU.

In addition, the JEB 3Seal HM+ spacer features a triple-seal technology, including a secondary seal made out of strong, high-modulus silicone, as well as a hot-applied captive polyisobutylene (PIB) primary seal and pre-applied acrylic adhesive for spacer to glass bonding.

Because IGUs must withstand constant wind loads, pressures, and temperature changes, the JEB 3Seal HM+ spacer was designed with a unique T-shape and high-modulus silicone to produce higher structural design strength, improved argon gas retention, and reduced edge-seal stress.

The end result is an IGU with a sleek sightline and thin profile that’s ideal for patterned units, two- and four-sided structurally glazed applications, and cold-formed, bent facades.

The video also details how the JEB 3Seal HM+ spacer can help a glazing solution meet tighter building energy codes by delivering lower total u-value, improving condensation resistance factors, driving higher edge-of-glass temperatures, and potentially eliminating the need for argon gas filling.
