EU glass and glazing national associations meet at Glass for Europe

On May 21, European glass and glazing national associations came to Brussels to participate in the traditional annual workshop organised by Glass for Europe for national glass associations and EU flat glass manufacturers. A must for all European glass stakeholders.

Glass for Europe seizes this opportunity to update national associations on the main issues at stake for the flat glass industry. The occasion also fostered cooperation between national stakeholders and Glass for Europe to ensure that flat glass priorities are met at time of implementing EU regulations.

During the meeting participants exchanged experiences and had fruitful discussions on key issues such as the energy savings potential of glazing, the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, the Energy labels for windows, the EU ETS, and the EU decarbonization agenda. Furthermore, Glass for Europe issued its latest brochures about the Glazing Potential for Energy Savings and CO2 Emission Reductions.

National Associations present at the workshop included representations from Belgium (Fédération de l’Industrie du Verre), France (CSFVP, UDTVP), Germany (Bundesverband Glasindustrie e.V.), Italy (Assovetro), Netherlands (Bouwend Nederland, Vakgroep GLAS), Poland (Polish Glass Manufacturers Federation) and the UK (GGF, BFRC, British Glass), together with Glass for Europe members, AGC Glass Europe, Guardian Europe, NSG Group, Saint-Gobain Glass Industry, Şişecam Flat Glass.
