» What gave CKM Extrusion the required impulse to start a business?
Bartosz Galezowski: Analyzing the Polish and foreign markets, we noticed the demand for high-quality profiles and a modern production technology, as well as for a quick implementation of orders. All these are connected with a large storage area and a wide range of offered products. Our vision was to become one of the few PVC profiles extrusion plants in Poland and to fill the geographical point, which is central Poland, to provide profiles for the domestic market and the neighbouring countries.
» Did you manage to make this vision come true?
Bartosz Galezowski: Since 2012, CKM Extrusion has been focused on innovation in the approach to the solutions offered for the window joinery. The company continues to develop its offer, expanding it by new geometries, systems and manufacturing capabilities. Thanks to persistence and the support from the European funds, a modern manufacturing plant was built in a completely undeveloped area in a short time. The plant locates an office, a production hall equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment for extrusion, mixing plant, lines for laminating, and an automatic warehouse for finished profiles. Thanks to years of observation, research and testing prior to the launch of the factory, we managed to design PVC profiles corresponding to the highest restrictive standards in the European Union and at the same time meeting the expectations of the Western and Eastern European markets in terms of technical solutions.
» What’s really unique about CKM Extrusion when compared to other extrusion plants on the market?
Bartosz Galezowski: CKM Extrusion, as one of the few extrusion facilities in Europe, has its own mixing plant for the production of PVC compound for the extrusion of PVC profiles. As a result, the composition of the compound remains the same all the time and it is continuously controlled by a computer. Proven suppliers of raw materials from Belgium, Germany, Austria, Holland and the perfectly chosen proportions of the compound allow strict control over all components of the formula. CKM Extrusion currently has twelve extruders from a renowned company KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH equipped with heads produced by Greiner Extrusion GmbH which provides the highest quality product. This quality is further ensured through servicing tools at Greiner company, as well as by testing the profiles in external companies four times a year. The profiles are manufactured on the basis of calcium-zinc stabilizers, without any additions of lead. Part of the production lines consists of two extruders which allow the production of main profiles in the so-called co-extrusion - the outer layer of the profiles is manufactured from a different type of compound, resistant to adverse weather conditions and solar radiation and the internal part from other stiffening compound providing, among others, proper stiffness to the profiles. Internal control is ensured by the quality control department which cuts the samples of profiles several times a day and then performs a series of tests to check their parameters. After checking the quality, measures and appearance, the profiles are transported to the warehouse.
» Could you tell us something more about the systems?
Bartosz Galezowski: CKM Extrusion has a wide range of profiles dedicated to specific needs of the target customer. The offer includes 6-chamber profiles - R2, R14 systems and a system designed for the most demanding user, having eight chambers in the basic sash with a delicate, streamlined shape – Design. Design System is the most developed having six types of sashes, diversified in terms of construction, shape, height and, above all, functionality. Another advantage is the possibility of ‘modification’ of each system depending on the customer's needs - CKM Extrusion profiles are compatible with one another. Additionally, the systems can be equipped with so-called ‘renovation frame’ in two sizes (this solution is popular especially on the Italian and French markets) and the monoblock frame of four depths: 105 mm, 125 mm, 145 mm and 165 mm. All systems extruded by CKM Extrusion are also available in the third gasket MD version. In terms of triple sealing, however, CKM has gone one step further, thus ahead of the competition - the additional sealing is possible after inserting, at any stage in the production of windows, of a special PVC clip into the frame profile and installing additional gasket to the sash. Triple sealing in windows made from CKM Extrusion profiles significantly improves window parameters in the field of thermal and acoustic insulation properties. Using the solution with a third gasket helps to minimize the negative effects of adverse weather conditions for the window (such as cold, sunshine, harmful chemicals floating in the air or dust) and, more importantly, for the household members. Driven by the strategy of innovation, CKM Extrusion introduced recently further geometries to the offer - a system of 88 mm, a revolutionary system for lift-and-slide HS doors and profiles for the popular on the Italian market casonetti. An additional advantage is the availability in offer of all necessary for the production of windows additional elements, such as: extending profiles, connectors, various laths, flat profiles, connectors for posts, pads, endings, etc. Two lines for laminating PVC profiles allowed us to introduce, except for the ‘most popular’ on market colours of foils, colours rarely seen or even not seen before, inspired by the natural wood structure. Examples of foils which CKM Extrusion has exclusive rights to are: Vintage Pine and Stucco Oak but the range of colours includes a dozen or so basic colours divided into two colour groups and a large variety of non-standard colours. An additional element distinguishing your company from the competition is the use of 4 base colours of profiles for laminating: white, caramel, dark-brown and graphite.
» Who does CKM Extrusion cooperate with?
Bartosz Galezowski: We are a young company, we’ve existed on the market for a few years now. However, it has to be said, the quality we represent has already been appreciated by many customers with whom we have established permanent cooperation. We sell our profiles regularly to Polish, Hungarian, Ukrainian customers and now we are in a phase of development in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. It is mainly thanks to our customers that our window systems are becoming more popular on European markets - windows manufactured on the basis of CKM Extrusion systems are sold with great success in France, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Indonesia, United States, to name a few. At the beginning of March 2015, our company received, after thorough research at SKZ-Tecon GmbH institute, a certificate confirming S-class of our profiles. It enabled us to establish new contacts and to start negotiations with further markets.
» How was 2016 for you?
Bartosz Galezowski: It was a year of further development and introduction of new systems. After numerous tests we have designed a new system of lift-and-sliding doors (HS) and a system of 88 mm profiles. In addition to these changes in the offer, we expanded the lines for laminating profiles which ensures faster delivery of profiles in any colour from our offer. At the same time, we conducted a number of interviews with manufacturers of windows which resulted in subsequent interesting projects and cooperation. With all these actions we increased the brand recognition and the quality of our innovative products.
» What are your future plans?
Bartosz Galezowski: The constant development of offer with new geometries and even wider range of additional elements, as well as permanent technological research of our solutions. The obvious course of action for us is further expansion on the Polish and foreign markets, offering modern and high quality products.
